Ashleigh + Alex | Morven Park Wedding

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012

I arrived at Morven Park and was welcomed by a big blue sky, a light breeze, and a historic mansion on acres and acres of land. I scouted, took a deep breath, and the day began. Alex and Ashleigh had told me about their wedding months ago. They loved equestrian decor, and were not going to use a lot of flowers – more moss, burlap, white candles.Their wedding was exactly what they had said. But even MORE beautiful. Take a look, and check out the wonderful vendors listed after the photo spread! Also, thanks to Rachael, my second shooter! She grabbed the shot of me in the fountain, and the Etsy framed dates!

Erica + Patrick | Virginia Horse County Portraits

Tuesday, June 19th, 2012

I’ve known Erica since she was little. But I guess I was little too because we’re only a few years apart. I was best friends with her sister and once we got our license to drive, us three girls drove countless trips out to the barn. I would try to give her advice like, “Senior year is the best. Just wait.” And, “Try to avoid high school drama. It’s so stupid.” Anyway, we’re all grown up now, we’ve graduated — from high school AND college — and now we’re in the real world where trips out to the barn are harder to come by. We have real jobs now. We have financial burdens and other priorities. Even though we will never loose our love for the barn, Erica has decided it’s time to say goodbye to Patrick, her horse. So we took a few “going away” portraits..

Diana + Stephen | Horse Country Engagement

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

Get ready for this one, readers. It might get emotional. And I have way too many images, but I really had trouble narrowing it down!

Diana is my childhood best friend. We grew up riding together. We had sleep overs and talked about boys. We sang to the Grease soundtrack and Michael Jackson cd’s using her bed as a stage. I helped her paint her room powder pink and baby blue. The other day we talked on the phone for 2 hours. We talked about commitment in relationship and what it looks like. Knowing we’ve not been through a long marriage, but knowing we’re committed. I realized that we’d changed. We were no longer in high school, or middle school for that. I’m so thrilled she met a guy who can complement her spunk and silliness but at the same time meet her at a place of commitment and depth. SO excited for Diana and Stephen’s wedding next year! By the way, HUGE thanks to Cyndi at Salon Emage Day Spa for the make up and hair on Diana. SO beautiful!

We started in Middleburg. FIRST frame. YES.

After Middleburg, we stopped by the barn to say hello to Bittersweet.

Then headed out to the battlefield with Gizmo and Asta.

Check out those shoes. Heck yes.

FAVORITE.

The bling.

Love you guys! I had so much fun with you!
